Michael "Mike" Ramon Sherman, 74, of Collegeville, PA, passed away on March 17, 2022, after a valiant 5-year fight against esophageal cancer. Mike was born in Lancaster, PA, in September1947, graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1965, and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1967. His final duty station was the USS Voge, and in June 1973, he was honorably discharged.
He returned to Lancaster, and later settled in Sugarloaf, PA, where he worked for PP&L and helped build the nuclear power plants at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station. He was blessed with two sons, Kevin Michael and Brian Louis. Our fondest memories include Mike spending time with his sons – playing catch, watching the Yankees, golfing, and roughhousing with his dogs, which included mutts, golden retrievers, and GSDs. In retirement, he most enjoyed time with his loving partner, Monica Weckesser, traveling Europe, relaxing in Rehoboth Beach, DE, biking, and enjoying his favorite meal – surf and turf.
Mike is survived by his sons, Kevin (Charlene), Brian (Sandy), his grandchildren, Samantha, Mike, Nick, Ella, Will, and Allister, his partner, Monica, his former spouse, Helen Berlandi, and his sister, Sandy Shenk.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
