Dorothy "Dot" Walters, 95

Dorothy (Neubert) Walters, 95, of Royersford, wife of the late Robert W. Walters of 70 years, passed away Saturday March 26, 2022 at her residence.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Ernst and Ella (Toepel) Neubert.

Dorothy graduated in 1944 from Royersford High School. She then attended Hahnemann Medical School and became a Medical Technician. She was employed at Pottstown Memorial Hospital and then in the office of Dr. J.E.P. Burns in Royersford. She retired from the workforce to become a full time homemaker after the birth of her daughter.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, in Royersford. She served on the church council and taught Sunday School in the Primary Department.

She was a past Secretary of the Royersford Women’s Club, a member of the Spring-Ford Historical Society and a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association.

Dot enjoyed gardening, crafts, arranging flowers, and her family.

Surviving is her son Brian Walters husband of Kim; daughter Joan Giesy wife of Eric; grandchildren Adam Giesy husband of Erin, Erika Hinkle wife of Jonathan, Julie Stadulis wife of Joshua, and Denise Gotwals; great grandchildren Trent and Ryan Gotwals, Connor and Ian Stadulis, and Jason, Justin, and Emily Hinkle; and sister Charlotte Dreibelbis.

Along with her husband and parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brother Ernest Neubert.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30-10:45 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to The Strunk Scholarship Fund at Grace Lutheran Church, 594 Church St. #1, Royersford, PA 19468 or to Tri County Hospice, 13 Armand Hammer Blvd. Suite 201, Pottstown, PA 19464.

To the Entire Walters Family; Our hearts goes out to you all. There is no greater loss than the death of your mother/grandmother. Dot was an incredible lady who reached out to everyone. Her kind and caring nature touched us all. Her love for each and everyone of you was evident in her family pride .
