Sally Ann Croce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Sally passed away peacefully during the early hours of April 2, 2022 at the age of 74, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband of over 51 years, Ronald Croce, was by her side.
She was born to James and Mary Genzano on October 2, 1947. She was raised in South Philadelphia by her parents and the hard-working, brilliant women in her life - her grandmother, Josephine Savarese and her great aunt, Rose Tremoglie.
After graduating from Maria Goretti High School, she started her career as an Executive Assistant at one of Philadelphia’s oldest law firms, Wolf, Block, Schorr & Solis-Cohen. She was proud to be a working mother and continued her career at Kravco and Centerbridge Group.
Sally met the love of her life - another South Philadelphia kid – Ron Croce, at Dick Lee’s Club in South Jersey, and married in 1970. Their life together emulated the saying, “A happy marriage isn’t based on the number of days, months, or years you’ve been together. It’s about how much you love each other every day.”
Their honeymoon was the start of Sally’s love of travel – even though she did try to talk Ron into taking a train to Miami. Sally and Ron vacationed in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France, England, Hawaii, and countless times at Walt Disney World and the Jersey shore. She and Ron braved activities during their travels – parasailing in tandem, a helicopter tour and submarine ride in Hawaii, and swimming with dolphins.
Sally loved being a grandmother (Gigi). She relished her time baking Christmas cookies and cheering her granddaughter on at sporting events. Sally enjoyed being with her family, especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed spending time with girlfriends, watching movies, reading romance novels, going to the casinos, and building Lego sets.
Most important to Sally was the love of family. She is survived by her husband Ron, children Cheryl (Tito) Cantafio and Andrea Croce Bevis (partner James Callen), beautiful granddaughter, Lily Isabel Bevis, brother James (Janet) Genzano, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 12:30pm at St. Eleanor Catholic Church (647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA19426) with Fr. Giardini officiating.
