Jeffrey Allen Rhoads, 46

It’s with heavy hearts that we inform you of the sudden passing of Jeffrey Allen Rhoads on May 10th, 2022 at his home in Sunnyvale, CA.

Born in Pottstown, PA, on February 10th, 1976, Jeff was raised in Gilbertsville and Boyertown, graduating from Boyertown Area Senior High School in 1994. An avid athlete, he played soccer on several teams and excelled in high jump, setting several local records. After high school, Jeffrey spent several years in NJ where he graduated from DeVry University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Network and Communications Management. He had a love for technology and spent the majority of his career in the Telecommunications field where he made many life-long friends and connections.

He loved the outdoors, in particular his family’s lake house in the Poconos where he made many memories with friends, family, and in recent years, his niece, nephews and his own children. In any type of weather, you could find Jeff out riding the beloved WaveRunner or driving the family boat, filled with family, dogs, and friends. He loved the water and often said he ‘swam like a fish’. In recent years he started scuba diving and was working towards the certification of Master Diver. Back on dry land, Jeff spent several years in the USA Masters Boxing Association as a Masters Boxer and was in training with Relentless Boxing Club in Santa Clara, CA for the 2022/2023 Masters Boxers series in Las Vegas, Boston, Houston, and LA.

Most will remember Jeff as a car enthusiast, with a particular affection for his own 1989 Iroc-Z. He loved his car dearly and was so proud to display it in the 2020 Philadelphia International Auto Show.

Jeffrey is survived by his long-term partner, Rebecca, and their children, daughter Kensington and son Chase, his parents Dennis and Susan Rhoads, sisters Kristin Wade and Megan Rhoads, brother-in-law Frank Wade, niece Madison, and nephews Landon, Everett, and Lyle, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He is predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 9:00-11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church, 1749 S. Main St., Bechtelsville, PA 19505, with the funeral service to take place immediately after at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Union Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Add My Condolences

I only knew Jeff for about a year, but I'm very sad at his passing. Jeff was my main sparring partner at Relentless Boxing, and we became good friends as we had a lot in common. May he rest in peace.

We were both sorry to hear about your son Jeff. Things happen sometimes that we don't have any answers but God is walking with us through it. We are praying Jesus will give you the strength and grace in the coming days to lean on Him. Sounds like he had a full active life.

May His Word comfort you.

Mt. 11:28-30 says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Hello Rhoads family. I'm so very sorry to hear about Jeff's passing. I cannot imagine the amount of grief you are experiencing. I didn't know Jeff very well but the few times that I did have the opportunity to speak with him, I did get the sense that he was somewhat troubled although he honestly did not show it. Jeff did have a great smile and a weird sense of humor, which I really enjoyed. Please accept our sincere prayers for Jeff and your entire family. Continue life knowing that Jeff is now in the loving arms of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Take care and God bless.
