Roy Reuben Kinckiner went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Roy was born in Pottstown, Pa. on December 18, 1927 and was the son of Joshua LeRoy and Helen (Smith) KInckiner.
Growing up Roy’s family owned a grocery store on Beech and Evans in Pottstown where he helped his grandfather tend the store. Roy attended Pottstown schools and enjoyed playing flute in the marching band as well as in his Sunday school orchestra at Trinity Reformed Church. He loved his church and was a 4th generation member there, devoted in church life with his young family. He worked for Metropolitan Life and American General as an Insurance agent for many years. Roy had a love for horses, family history, family reunions, attending Pottstown Symphony Concerts and Pottstown Band concerts. He was a former Garden Club Member and Blue Bird Committee member. Roy was also a starting member of the Boyertown Area Choral Association for many years.
He was a widower of his beloved, wife Emily Bolton, and is survived by his three daughters, Patricia Moyer (Charles), Koreen Mace ( Stan ) and Gwen Conrad (Steve), 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Roy was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Services will be Wednesday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Reformed Church. Viewing will be held before the service from 9:30 -10:45 at the church. Burial will follow at Pottstown East Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers the family is working on starting a scholarship fund to assist students in the music department at Pottstown Middle School. More information will be available once this is established.
