George F. Mock, 98, of Douglassville, PA, formerly of Sanatoga, PA, husband of the late Sara May (Babel) Mock, passed away Saturday June 25, 2022 at Amity Place retirement community.
Born in Linfield, PA, on August 19, 1923, he was the son of the late Francis M. and Mary Emma (Deery) Mock.
George served in the US Army during WWII where he also performed as a cook and a boxer. He worked for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. until he retired. He enjoyed baseball (especially watching the Philadelphia Phillies), bowling, bingo, playing cards, and painting. George loved spending time outside doing yard work and traveling to the beach at Wildwood, NJ with his family. He was a very kindhearted man who always helped others.
Surviving is his son Thomas Mock; daughter Nancy Vroman; son in-law Wolfgang Kirchner; his grandchildren, Lori Ludwig, Michele Saunders, Scott Kirchner, Travis Kirchner, Michael Reinstein, Christina Riedel, and Angela Clover; and ten great grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents, George was predeceased by his daughter Betty Ann Kirchner and grandchild Tara Kirchner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00-10:45 AM at the funeral home.
