Robert Franciose, 79

Robert Franciose, passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2022, after a nine-year battle with Cancer.

Born in Lynn, Mass to the late Robert and Jeanette Franciose.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Teri (Teressa). He also leaves behind a son Robert (HariBeth) of Starlight Lake, Pa.; his step-children, which he cherished and loved as his own – Christine Pyne (Jeff) of Newburg, Pa., Cherie Koontz of Easton, Md., and Norman Koontz, of Pottstown, Pa.; in addition, six beautiful grandchildren – Aaron, Brenna, Brittany, Mela, Avery and Stella; and two great-grandchildren – Trey and Lilly.

After graduating from Michigan State University (Bachelor of Science Degree), and Pepperdine University (Masters of Business Administration), he went on to work with General Electric/Lockheed Martin, with over 50 years of service. He received numerous awards and accolades, including the GE General Managers Award, Iridium Satelite Service Recognition, the Lockheed Martin NOVA Award for ACES, and many others. His work involved extensive travels throughout the world – Singapore, China, South America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, to name a few. You could sit for hours and listen to his monologues, about the adventures and the people he met along the way.

He often referred to himself as a curmudgeon, however, he loved his family and friends greatly. One of the many highlights of his life included travels to Mexico, Europe, and the Bahamas. There were also fun times with the grandchildren – sledding the slopes in Syracuse, kayaking at Marsh Creek, and challenging games of Chess. He also treasured game nights, whether it was Tripoly, Sequence, or Chicken Foot Dominos, it always included laughter and amusement.

To honor his legacy, a memorial service will be held Saturday July 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, Pa 19525. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:30-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Following services, family and friends are invited to attend an open house.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to Brookdale Hospice, 995 Old Eagle School Road, Suite 315, Wayne, Pa 19087.

Add My Condolences

I had a chuckle at “curmudgeon “. He was a big softy on the inside. I met a lot of people, and he was one-of-a-kind. When we met, he became my mentor without saying a word. He made navigating KoP easier, especially the inside politics. I looked forward to our lunches after he retired. I will miss you, my friend.

Bob was truly one of a kind. Having worked, traveled and played together at GE in King of Prussia, PA and then in Santa Barbara, CA, we became the best of friends. We were fortunate to be able to maintain communications and occasional visits over the years. His wit and humor over the past 9 years as he fought the big C will remain a tribute to the man he was. I will miss one of my life's best friends and Marjie and I will keep Teri in our thoughts and prayers as she moves forward.

Will miss his humorous notes and sarcastic wit. As a new employee to LM many years ago, Bob took me under his wing and became a great friend while he showed me the ropes. It was a great honor to know and work with him and he will be so missed. Our deepest condolences.
