Ronald A. Christman, 86, of North Coventry Twp., passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 23, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Born in Palmerton he was the son of late Allen R. and Louise M. (Nothstein) Christman.

Ron was a graduate of Palmerton High School. After high school, he entered the U.S. Navy where he worked as a communications specialist. After leaving the Navy, Ron began a career as a meat cutter for Food Fair Corporation before going to work for Dana Corporation as a machine operator, where he worked for 30+ years before retiring. Ron was also a self-employed painter and given the nickname “The Picasso of Pottstown” by some of his regular customers and close friends.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs, going to the shore, reading, and playing cards. He was also an avid animal lover who supported and donated to various charitable organizations.

Ron was a member of Shenkel United Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge 741 of Boyertown, and the Scottish Rite Cathedral of Reading.

He is survived by his daughters Lori A. Daniels, wife of Christopher, and Terri L. Raimondo, both of North Coventry; grandchildren Nicole L. Amaya, wife of Eli; Jessica M. Estores, wife of Iolani; Amanda M. Daniels, and Patrick J. Daniels, husband of Ashley; and great-grandchildren Noah and Caleb Amaya; Kalau, Ka’iulani, Ke’alohilani, Koamalu, and Kaleoikaika Estores; and Finley Rose and Harper Grace Daniels. He is preceded in death by his wife Joan E. (Hagenbuch), with whom he shared 63 years of marriage and son Richard M. Christman.

Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Poppy), brother, son and friend who will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a joint Memorial Service for both Ron and Joan on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LLC., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Terri and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Christman. I met him just a few short times, and he was such a kind and friendly soul. My deepest sympathies. I am sure your mom, brother and all the pups were there to greet him.
