Ricky Jarota, 67

Ricky Jarota, 67, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2022.

Ricky is predeceased by his parents, Zigmunt and Jadwiga Jarota. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah Jarota, his son-in-law and daughter, Stanley and Jill Weglarz, two grandchildren, Mela Koontz and Hailey Weglarz, as well as his sister and her family, Edward and Sophie Arrasmith, and two brothers and their families, Sylvester and Marianne Jarota, and Darren and Diane (Ramsey) Jarota, along with several close friends and extended family members.

Ricky was born October 16, 1954, in Lomza, Poland and emigrated to the United States with his parents and siblings when he was in his early teens. Originally living in the Bronx, New York then moving to Conshohocken, Pennsylvania where he attended Plymouth Whitemarsh high school and eventually met and married his high school sweetheart, Debbie, in 1976. During their 46 years of marriage, Rick and Debbie enjoyed time together and entertaining family and friends. There were many family trips camping and to the beach, as well as frequent impromptu barbeques and gatherings. Ricky was always pleasantly surprised when someone stopped by to visit and would make everyone feel welcome in his home. Quick visits with Ricky would turn into conversations that could last for hours.

He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed working hard throughout his life and providing for his family. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking and creatively utilizing what he had on hand to make something delicious. He always had a fresh meal ready for Debbie when she came home from work. He was extremely thoughtful and caring.

He cherished being outdoors and throughout his lifetime spent many hours hiking, biking, hunting and fishing. After working for over 40 years in the swimming pool service industry, Ricky had recently retired to enjoy time with his wife and family and friends, as well as the quiet and nature-filled grounds of his home and surrounding woods. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

To honor Ricky’s life, visitation will be held Saturday August 6, 2022, beginning 10:00 AM, and will be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 711 N Franklin St, Pottstown, PA 19464. Following services, family and friends are invited to attend an open house and luncheon.

Add My Condolences

Dear Mrs. Jarota, Jill with the Family and Rick’s siblings with Families, we are so deeply sorry for your loss.
Many of us who knew Ricky, we are with tears reminiscing the good times we had together and telling our children how great and fun friend he was. He and my father Henry let us join their impromptu fishing and mushrooms picking, campings at the lakes which help us to see the similarity to our places in Poland and decide to stay here, especially after introducing me to my ex-husband and father of my two older so beloved children. Rick was a big part of our happy times here and will be missed so much, but not forgotten. We will keep repeating our story, but also remember the perfect place he got for his family .
In Rick’s legacy we all should ask ourselves how much more special and fun we can make somebody’s else’s life, that might take focus of the grief/prize we all have to pay now for knowing Ricky or even who mostly just heard about him like my family: Jake and Kate Derstine, Milosz and Rodrigo.
Rest In Peace dear Friend or maybe, just maybe you’re busy catching up with your old friend Haney…

I’m going to miss you Rick… you were my father in law but I saw you as a Dad. You taught me so much throughout the years but it was your gritty toughness that made me respect you the most. Godspeed my old friend
