Ronald G. DeBlase Sr., 92, husband of the late Shirley L. (Bush) DeBlase, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home in Pottstown.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Millie and Eleanor Rose (Renshaw) DeBlase.
Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing and gardening. Ron often enjoyed watching horse races and playing the lottery. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War in the 33rd Air Rescue Squadron and served on a B-29 plane. Ron loved going to his cabin at Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos. He liked to play poker on Thursday nights with his friends and was a long-time member of the Elks and Maria Assunta.
Surviving is his son Ronald G. DeBlase Jr.; son Michael DeBlase; daughter Jill DeBlase; son Brad DeBlase, husband of Kelly; sister Eleanor Jean (DeBlase) Sharkey; grandchildren Rachel Stierly, wife of Josh, Mark DeBlase, husband of Christine, Jonathon DeBlase, husband of Michelle, Marlee DeBlase, Hunter DeBlase, and Evan DeBlase; 2 step great grandchildren Alex and Lydia Simpson; and great grandchildren Jacob and Vivien Stierly. He is predeceased by his daughter Kim DeBlase; brother W. Douglass DeBlase; and brother Joseph DeBlasio.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464) with Pastor Gil Vining officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park. A visitation will also be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home.
