Kathleen D. Mackey, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at UPMC Lock Haven Hospital.
Born in Renovo, PA, she was the daughter of the late John M. Mackey and Mary Louise (Deeghan) Mackey.
After high school, she attended Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Philadelphia where she earned her degree in Radiologic Technology. She worked the majority of her career at the former North Penn Hospital in Lansdale, PA and ended her time there as the Mammography Department Supervisor. Kathy enjoyed listening to music. Her favorites included Barry Manilow and John Denver. Kathy loved to watch crime investigation shows on TV. She was an extremely hard worker; raising 3 children by herself. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Surviving is her daughter Carleen Markoski, wife of Andrew; son Barrett Parsons, husband of Jaime; son Jeffrey Parsons, husband of Diane; grandchildren Ciara Markoski, Owen Markoski, and Barret Parsons Jr. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Erin Mckenna; sisters Colleen Grotzinger, Mary Louise Johnson, Ann Shearer, and brother John “Pete” Mackey.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 8:00pm at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464) with Deacon Jim Nash officiating. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
