Barry R. Geisler, 51

Barry Richard Geisler, 51, husband of Angela Marie (Sell) Geisler, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at his home in Douglassville.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of Richard and Patricia (Harp) Geisler.

Barry was an accomplished attorney as the Divisional Senior Vice President and CUO at Great American Insurance Company, Environmental Division. He attended Bucknell University and went on to earn his Juris Doctorate at South Texas College of Law. Barry’s first love was football, excelling as a player through high school and college. Barry was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan and he also enjoyed rooting for the Phillies and Flyers. In his spare time, Barry enjoyed camping with his family and friends as well as hunting and fishing, and most recently, renovating and creating his dream property. He was a man of few words, full of wit and wisdom, and when he spoke, you laughed or learned. More than anything, Barry was an amazing and selfless husband, father and friend. His children were his most important and treasured accomplishments. His loyalty to his friends was unmatched. He never wavered in his desire to ensure the happiness of others, especially his family, who were always his first priorty.

Surviving along with his wife Angela of 19 years, are his children Alexa Geisler and Gabriel Geisler; parents Richard and Patricia Geisler; sister Pamela Carr, fiancé of Kevin Barndt; and nephew Jason Carr.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Barry’s name.

Dear Geisler family, my deepest sympathies for your loss. I had the privilege to work with Barry for 18 years. I am not aware of anyone in our industry that could match his knowledge and skill. Needless to say, I learned a lot from Barry. During the last two years, I also learned about strength, courage, and resilience from Barry’s example. Barry loved his family very much. He was very proud of his kids. Barry will be missed.

Angela, Alexa, Gabriel and the entire Geisler family, words can not express the deep sorrow that many of us feel at the loss of a special person like Barry. I had the pleasure and good fortune of working side by side with Barry for the past 18 years, and while I was technically his manager I can certainly say I was not his superior in any sense of the word. And while he was very reserved when it came to talking about his life outside of the office, even though we spent thousands of lunches and countless meetings together, it was obvious how much he loved and cared for his family. Someone years ago referred to myself and Barry as Captain Kirk and Mr Spock from the Star Trek show (knowing how big a Trekkie I am) and now it’s hard to imagine how Kirk is going to survive without Spock by his side. May God bless the Geisler family during this time of grief.
