Mary Kathleen Prochaska, 54

Mary Kathleen Prochaska, 54, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Sanatoga Center in Pottstown.

Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late James Joseph Prochaska and Mary E. (Groome) Votel.

Mary went to Overbrook School for the blind, where she was on the track team. She was a member of the track team that won the E.A.A.B championship in 1985. Mary was an avid Phillies fan and loved rooting for her favorite player, Aaron Nola. Mary enjoyed all sports but she especially enjoyed being a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, NCAA basketball, and NASCAR. Her favorite college team was Georgetown. Mary loved her dog, Diamond. She was a longtime member of St. Matthew’s Parish in Philadelphia and a member of St. Columbkill Church for the last 7 years.

Mary Kathleen is survived by her mother Mary Votel and three brothers Jim, Bob (Birgit) and Marc. She is also survived by four loving nieces, Nicole, Bryanna, Jamie and Lyndsey. Her father, James Prochaska and her sister Karen Natalie preceded her in death.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:00AM at St. Columbkill Church (200 Indian Spring Rd, Boyertown, PA 19512). Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia. A viewing will also be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 10:00-11:00AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County Association for the Blind (25 E Marshall St, Norristown, PA 19401) in Mary’s name.
