John “Jack” E. Jackson Sr., 88, husband of Elizabeth “Betty” J. (Capparella) Jackson, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022, at his home in Royersford.
Born in Harmonville, PA, he was the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Reed) Jackson.
Jack enjoyed playing sports in his youth. He played basketball and was on the track team. Jack proudly served in the United States Navy where he was also a sharpshooter. In his adult years, he had various professions; contractor, business owner, and security guard to name a few. In his retirement years, Jack loved to work on puzzles. He lived to help people. Jack loved his family and adored spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving along with his wife Betty of 68 years, is his daughter Celeste Richman, wife of Scott; son John E. Jackson Jr., husband of Barbara; daughter Johanne Marchese, wife of Robert; daughter Charisse Marei-Ronnermann, wife of Drew; and son Derrick Jackson, husband of Desiree; brother William Jackson, husband of Anne; brother Price Jackson, husband of Carol; and sister Deborah Brancaleoni, wife of Frank; brother-in-law John Carfagno; all grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Edna Ferguson, wife of the late Frank; brother Walter Jackson Jr., husband of the late Ginny; brother Robert Jackson, husband of the late Patti; sister Grace Carfagno; and sister Margaret Lawrence.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (595 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426) with Monsignor Leighton officiating. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 9:30-11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice (2 Campus Blvd., Suite 200, Newtown Square, PA 19073) in Jack’s name.
