Dawn Ruggiero, 51

Dawn (Preite) Ruggiero, 51, of Royersford, wife of Lee Ruggiero, passed away suddenly on Tuesday November 1, 2022 in Fremont, CA.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Debbie (Klebon) Preite and the late John Preite.

Dawn was a loving wife of 20 years and devoted mother to her two sons, her number one priority in life. She will always be remembered as the actively involved soccer mom or the number one fan cheering from the bleachers at baseball games. When not advocating for her boys, Dawn could often be found cooking or socializing with family, friends, and colleagues with a glass of wine in hand. Dawn had high expectations for her boys and those close to her. She saw the best in everyone and in that way, she made us all better.

Dawn graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Chemical Engineering. She was the Vice President of Valspec and Proconex where she was highly respected and admired for her work ethic and generosity. Dawn started and led the Proconex Community Initiative which gives back to local communities through service projects focused on underprivileged children and early reading enhancement. All who knew Dawn felt her energy, big heart, and giving nature.

Surviving, along with her husband and mother, are her two sons Gabriel and Dominic Ruggiero; two brothers Michael Preite husband of Lori and John Preite husband of Terry; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday November 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Sunday November 6, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM and Monday November 7, 2022 from 9:00-10:45 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dawn’s memory to the Daily Bread Community Food Pantry, 3938B Ridge Pike, Collegeville, PA 19426.

We knew Dawn through soccer for the past 18 months or so. She and Gabe welcomed Liam onto the team. She was wonderful to talk with and took great care to make sure the boys were well cared for.
We are glad Liam connected with Gabe. We are glad to have known Dawn. She will be missed. Knowing the wonderful young men her sons are becoming says so much about Dawn.

While I did not have the pleasure of working directly with Dawn - the warm, friendly, and supportive culture that Proconex embodies would not be what it is today without Dawn. As one of our greatest leaders, she created what so many others fall short of - a true testament to her character, energy, and vibrant personality. She will be missed by family, friends, and coworkers.
