Donald "Donny" E. Renish, Jr., 45

“Donny” Donald E. Renish, Jr., 45, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022.

Born in Norristown on June 25, 1977, he was the son of Susan Batdorf-Clohecy and the late Donald Renish, Sr.

Donny attended Boyertown Area Senior High School with the graduating class of 1995. He was known locally for his handcrafted soaps and natural skincare business, Smell Ya Later Soaps.

To know Donny was to love him. He had an infectious laugh, and a smile that could light up any room. He had a kind, gentle nature, and made friends wherever he went. He loved giving hugs and making people laugh. He will be missed by many.

He had a passion for the outdoors, and enjoyed camping, hiking, and kayaking with his family, friends, and dogs. He was a man of many creative talents. Skilled in both woodworking and painting—he was always full of ideas for whatever art project was next.

He is survived by his life partner of 20 years, Eileen Kubilus-Renish; daughters Chapel Renish, and Kasey Byington wife of Corey Byington; mother Susan Clohecy wife of Dave Bergen; brother Steven Clohecy husband of Jennifer Li; grandsons Maddox and Benny Byington; nephew Perry Clohecy; niece Millie Clohecy; grandparents Fred and Verna Clohecy; and various other family and friends that loved him.

He was predeceased by his stepfather, Fred Clohecy III; stepsister Sandra Clohecy; stepbrother Christopher Clohecy; and grandparents Douglas and Margo Batdorf.

A “Celebration of Life” gathering will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Deep Creek Stone Lodge, Green Lane, PA 18054. Further details to follow in the Spring of 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his Memory to the Penn Foundation.
