Esther A. (Happel) Hoffert, 95, of Reading, wife of the late James Hoffert, passed away Friday December 2, 2022 at Sanatoga Court.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Sarah Esther (Adams) Happel.
Esther worked as a medical transcriptionist in Reading area hospitals. She handcrafted pottery and leather goods which she sold at the Leesport Flea Market. Later in life, she also sold antiques.
Surviving is her grandson Todd Hoffert husband of Stacy; twin great grandchildren Brady and Ava; nieces Nancy Kocher, Natalie Shollenberger, and Alison Pizzoli; and her best friend Verna Horvat.
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son David Hoffert; sister Joyce Turner; and brother Albert Happel.
A memorial service will be held Friday December 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00-9:45 AM at the funeral home.
