Helen (Krepicz) Allison, 88, died peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Sanatoga Court in Pottstown.
Born in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Husack) & Paul Krepicz, Sr.
Helen graduated from Stephen S. Palmer High School in Palmerton in 1952. She then went on to become a registered nurse graduating from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She loved her time working as a nurse at Chester County, Pottstown, and Phoenixville Hospitals. Over the years, she helped run the family-owned businesses: the Vincent Motel, the Nittany Manor Motel and then Park Towne Beverage until her retirement in her later years.
Helen had a lifelong love of music. She played the clarinet and violin in the high school band and orchestra, later going on to play the cello. Helen enjoyed bowling and belonged to many local leagues over the years. When she was not spending time with family, she could often be found reading, playing scrabble, or taking care of her plants.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Katie Harris, wife of Jim ‘Winger’; son, Pat Allison Sr., husband of Sandi; grandchildren, Skyler Harris, Devon Allison, and Patrick Allison Jr.; sister, Midge Barilla, wife of Paul; brother, Paul Krepicz Jr., husband of Marie. Also, numerous loved nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Helen was predeceased by her grandson, Chris Harris; sisters, Irene Walck, Kinna Kern, Anna Searles, and Mary Taschler.
A private family service will be held Friday, December 16.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association (memorial gift); Sunflowers of Peace (helping the people of Ukraine); or ASPCA (memorial donation).
