Elizabeth R. Bedi, 85

Elizabeth R. (Daminger) Bedi, 85, wife of Robert “Bob” L. Bedi, formerly married to Gerald C. Buckwalter, Sr. of 45 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Pottstown Hospital.

Born in Barnsboro, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Barrett) Daminger.

Elizabeth was very active within the Coventry Church of the Brethren, where she was also a Deaconess. She volunteered at the Pottstown Cluster and Meals on Wheels for years. Elizabeth was active in children’s ministries at Coventry Church of the Brethren, including Sunday School, cooking for Pioneer Clubs and was an aide for the nursery school. Elizabeth enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and being active in her garden. She had quite the green thumb and was especially known for her beautiful roses. Elizabeth loved going to Ocean City NJ for vacation annually. Her family was her pride and joy.

Surviving along with her husband Bob, are her children Tamara Swavely, wife of Howard R. Swavely III, Amy Batdorf, wife of James, and Gerald C. Buckwalter, Jr., husband of Debbie; grandchildren Adam Swavely, Alex Swavely, Zachary Batdorf, Aaron Batdorf, Abigail Kerstetter, Jacob Buckwalter, Jessica Buckwalter, and John Buckwalter; great grandchildren Abraham Swavely, Caleb Swavely, Teddy Swavely, Kendall Batdorf, Sadie Batdorf, Haley Batdorf, Isaac Batdorf, and Eleanor Batdorf. She is predeceased by her siblings George Daminger, Wilhelmina Daminger, and Raymond Daminger.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00AM at Coventry Church of the Brethren (946 Keen Rd, Pottstown, PA 19465) with Pastor Mark Muthler officiating. Burial will follow at East Coventry Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will also take place on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 9:30-11:00AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coventry Church of the Brethren or to the Pottstown Cluster (57 N Franklin St, Pottstown, PA 19464) in Elizabeth’s name.

When Uncle Bob married Elizabeth we were pleased that he was fortunate to have someone like her as his wife.
She was kind, gentle & very talented in many ways. Her kind sincere spirit will be missed, especially those close to her.

Praying for comfort & peace realizing as time moves on the joy of fond memories with replace the pain of her loss.

I am her son Jerry's brother-in-law and have only met Elizabeth briefly but it's easy to see all the beautiful qualities she handed down to him in the way he takes care of my sister and their amazing children.
My thoughts are with you.
