Lee S. Lamison, 74

Lee S. Lamison, 74, husband of Sandra K. (Long) Lamison, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023, at his home in East Coventry, PA where his devoted family lovingly cared for him.

Born on September 22, 1948, in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Russell and Jeanette Lamison.

Lee was one of five and lived in Pittsburgh before returning to Spring City, Pennsylvania.

Lee was a graduate of Spring-Ford Area High School, class of 1966. During his time at Spring-Ford, Lee was a member of the wrestling team. Following his graduation, Lee continued his wrestling career and studied to become a teacher at Temple University. Lee taught mathematics at Spring-Ford Area School District for 33 years, retiring in 2003. During that time, Lee also started the Spring-Ford Youth Wrestling Program, coached youth baseball, and coached wrestling at Spring-Ford for 22 years. After retirement, Lee returned to Spring-Ford as a substitute teacher for an additional 9 years.

Lee was an avid outdoorsman who loved rock-climbing, hiking, and camping. He ran and finished the Pittsburgh marathon in 1996. After receiving a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease in 2005, Lee began his fight to live life to its fullest and delay the onset of his disability. He engaged in Taekwondo, earning his Black Belt in 2017. Lee also took up boxing and other activities in order to maintain his active lifestyle. Lee met each new challenge with strength and resolve. In addition, Lee loved cruising with his wife, Sandie, and spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren, attending as many baseball games, wrestling matches, band competitions, hockey games, and performances as possible.

Surviving along with his wife of 52 years, are his sons Brian Lamison (Megan) and Brad Lamison (Terri); grandchildren Emily, Isaiah, Conor, and Cole as well as sister Carol Lamison. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by brothers Russell and Thomas and sister Margaret (Waltemyer).

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00 am at Catagnus Funeral Home (329 N Lewis Rd, Royersford, PA 19468). A visitation will also be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 9:00-10:45 am at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Sandy, My heart goes out to you and your family. I only got to meet Lee in person one during our Canada trip for Richard's birth. He made quite an impression on me. Glad you have many memories to carry you through this deep time of grief.
