Roy R. Nyce, 80, husband of Dolores R. (Peterka) Nyce, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Sanatoga Center in Pottstown.
Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Russell and Marion (Taylor) Nyce.
Roy proudly served in the United States Army. He was an avid Racecar enthusiast. He also enjoyed bowling and participated in many bowling leagues over the years. Roy was a huge animal lover. He enjoyed raising pets and feeding the birds outside his home. Roy enjoyed sports but baseball was his favorite. He was a big time New York Yankees fan but also enjoyed rooting for his local teams. One of Roy’s favorite past times was attending the Reading Phillies game every year on Father’s Day with his family. Roy liked watching and playing with fireworks and always made sure to watch Jeopardy every evening with his wife Dolores.
Surviving along with his wife Dolores, are his children Larry Barnaik, Scott Barnaik, husband of Sara, Kimberly Spahr, wife of Robert, Katie Groff, wife of Jason, Sabrina Evangelist, wife of Matthew, and Samantha Tulish, wife of Michael; brothers William Nyce and James Nyce; sister Mary Ann Johnson; 13 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Edward Nyce.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 10:00-11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468). Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories.
