Lawrence “Larry” Francis Politz, 64

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lawrence (Larry) Francis Politz of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 31, 2023. He was born in Levittown, Pennsylvania, on April 8, 1958, the son of the late Irvin and Elizabeth (Lloyd) Politz and also preceded in death of his brother David Politz.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Susan (Conner) and his brother, Richard Politz of Bellingham, WA and his sisters Peggi Platco and Darlene Pekala (John), both of Harrisburg, his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Marcus, Mallory, Gregory, Michael, Jillian and Sydney and many great nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law, Elaine Leeser and her husband, Bucky.

Larry spent his life helping others from volunteering with the local firehouse while in high school to retiring with the Pennsylvania State Police as a 911 operator. Larry was an umpire for many years with Lower Perkiomen Little League. Even arranging for the Phillie Phanatic to walk in their parade. He will be remembered for his huge heart and also as “Boomer” from his wresting days at Methacton High School.

Please join us for a celebration of Larry’s life on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Collegeville Firehouse, 29 E. Fifth Avenue, Collegeville, PA. Please Park across the street at the borough building. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 5:30 followed by a service starting at 5:30. Everyone is welcome to share a story about Larry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association.

Larry, you were my “gentle giant teddy bear” as a cousin. I’m glad we talked a few times these past years and it made Mom happy when you’d call her. I hope you are at peace now and our Heavenly family welcomed you with open arms. You will always be remembered for your big heart and willingness to help anyone. Rest in peace my cousin, love you!
