John G. Paretti, 94, of Pottstown, husband of the late Sarah (Vetovich) Paretti, passed away Monday February 6, 2023 at his residence.
Born in Shamokin, he was the son of the late Felix and Mary (Burns) Paretti.
John worked as a police officer in the borough of Pottstown and later retired as a supervisor at the former Cabot Corp. He was a member of the Pottstown Elks, Holy Trinity, Gilbertsville Fire Co., St. Gabriel’s in Stowe, and the former Maria Assunta. John also worked as a Park Ranger in East Greenville. He attended Coal Township High School and then joined the US Army. John was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed writing poetry, attending the casino, and scratch off lottery tickets. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Surviving are his children Sara Lee Hinkle wife of Donald, Jill Fontana wife of Michael, and Jack Paretti husband of Catherine; grandchildren Holly Parker, Krista Tillman, Michael Fontana, John Stetler, and John Charles Paretti; 8 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents, John was predeceased by 3 sisters.
A private service will be held by the family for Sarah and John.
