Jerry Eugene Keenan, 83

Jerry Eugene Keenan, 83, of Boyertown, passed away peacefully at Amity Place, Douglassville on February 28. He was the husband of Helene (Condrack) whom he married November 29, 1969.

Born in Denver, PA on April 17, 1939, he was the son of the late Alverta (Glass, Keenan) Kilhefner and Norton Keenan. Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, a 1974 graduate of Ursinus College, and served in the Army National Guard. His long accounting and financial career culminated in his position as the chief financial officer of KB Alloys, Sinking Spring. Jerry was a lifelong lover of animals and nature, and could often be found working on his garden or fish pond. He enjoyed golfing and would usually proclaim after a round that he had discovered the secret to perfecting his game. Ever a sports fan, Jerry faithfully watched the Phillies and Eagles and took notes on every play. An avid reader and a writer at heart, he penned two novels and countless letters to the editor of the Reading Eagle. Those who knew him best have heard him play the guitar with enthusiasm. He loved researching and writing music and frequenting open mic nights. In all of his endeavors, people knew Jerry to be a kind individual who had a quick wit, dry sense of humor, and a deep spirituality.

Surviving are his wife and daughters Erica Keenan and Jodi Johnston, son-in-law Mark Johnston, and sisters Barbara Todd and Judy Weidner. He is predeceased by his brother Kenneth.

Visitation will be Monday, March 6th at 10 AM at St. Columbkill Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown, PA with a mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown. Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Gilbertsville is in charge of arrangements.
