Barry Asa Lawhorne, Sr., husband of Brenda L. (Hoffman) Lawhorne, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Pottstown Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Biney, Sr., and Beatrice (Weaver) Lawhorne.
Barry was a longtime employee at the Limerick Power Plant as a security guard. He also was a volunteer firefighter and EMS for many years. Family was the most important aspect in Barry’s life. He adored spending time with his grandchildren. Never letting his disability hold him back, he often rode the public bus into town and was friends with everyone he came across.
Surviving along with his wife Brenda of 40 years, is his daughter Leigh Ann McCabe, wife of Jason; son Barry A. Lawhorne Jr., husband of Amanda Phillips; sister Barbara Lawhorne; brother Biney (Bud) Lawhorne, Jr., husband of Debi; grandchildren DJ Phillips and James McCabe. He is predeceased by his brother Brian Lawhorne.
Services will be held privately by the family.
