Karin Maurer, 72

Karin Maurer, loving wife of Timothy Maurer was called home by her Lord and Savior March 14, 2023 at the young age of 72.

Karin was raised in Trappe, PA and graduated from Collegeville-Trappe High School in 1968. A resident of Trappe for many years her life path took her to Louisiana for 21 years before retiring and moving back to Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania to be close to family and old friends.

She started her career as typist for the American Baptist Convention, King of Prussia, PA; she then worked for Lockheed Martin, King of Prussia, PA; and finally as a secretary for Jefferson Parish Community Action Programs, Harahan, LA.

Karin had an infectious laugh. She enjoyed being with friends, family & her cats. She had a love and concern for animals especially the wild birds that visited her backyard. Karin had a love for cooking and looked forward to making special meals for her family on the weekends. When her work was done Karin enjoyed meeting up with friends, listening to music and dancing. Vacation time with family was usually spent in New England or Florida. In later years vacations were spent with her husband and friends along the MS Gulf Coast. She also enjoyed riding in Mardi Gras parades, trips to New York City and day trips to Lancaster County, PA. Karin was an active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for many years having served a term as president of the Elks auxillary for New Orleans Lodge #30. She was currently a member of Pottstown Elks Lodge #814.

She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Estelle Peterson, her brother Carl, and her sister Dolores.

She will be missed dearly by her husband Tim and her children Suzanne Benner of Jefferson, LA; Heather Bustard and husband Robert of Lower Pottsgrove, PA; Jacob Maurer of Mount Joy, PA; and Emily Paris and husband Anthony of Bronxville, NY.

She is also survived by brother Richard Peterson and his wife Janice of Macungie, PA and by sister Cheryl Bulman and her husband John of Kutztown, PA.

A service for family members and friends will be held Friday, March 24 at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ (532 E Main St, Collegeville, PA 19426). Visitation begins at 10:00AM and service will be at 11:00AM.
