Joann M. (McLaughlin) Banks, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Parkhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Costenbader) McLaughlin.
Joann earned her nursing degree from Cumberland County College. She then worked as a registered nurse, with a specialty in hospice care. She later would become a nursing supervisor. Joann was a huge animal lover. In her spare time, she loved creating flower arrangements, making crafts, and enjoyed knitting quilts. Christmas was always her favorite time of year. She loved decorating and getting into the spirit of the season.
Surviving is her son David Banks, and his wife Michele; grandchildren David W. Banks and Michael J. Banks; cousins Janice Steele, Curtis Ashner, Terry Costenbader, Ray-ann Olet and Sue Weinland.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468). A visitation will also be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 9:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice (1777 Sentry Pkwy W # 110, Blue Bell, PA 19422) in Joann’s name.
