Samuel “Sandy” Polen, 72

Samuel “Sandy” Polen, 72, husband of Debra K. (Lopez) Polen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Pottstown Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Erwin and Gloria (Litwin) Polen.

Sandy loved watching Sci-Fi movies and shows, especially Doctor Who. He was a longtime member of the Boy Scouts and volunteered there often. He and his son Stephen joined Troop 367 in New Hanover Township and Sandy became Rank Advancement Chair and a counselor and was a fixture at their meetings for years. His true passion was his family and spending quality time with his granddaughters.

Surviving, along with his wife Debra of 40 years, are his daughter Jessica Cole, wife of John; son Stephen Polen; granddaughters Madison Cole and Peyton Cole.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11:00AM at Mt. Zion Cemetery (225 E Schuylkill Rd, Pottstown, PA 19465).

In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to your local Boy Scout Troop or to the Charity of your choice.

I haven't seen Sandy in years, but I remember him as a kind and caring person. My heartfelt sympathy to Debi, his children and grandchildren.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I worked with Sandy for several years at Lockheed . He was a pleasure to work with, and had a jovial personality. Thoughts and prayers to the family
