Add My Condolences

At the age of 87, is it too late for me to write volumes about my cousin, Bill, and his delightful wife, Betty? This obituary was just found by me while playing on my computer, a year and a day after Betty's death. My mother, Eleanor (Deihm) Brooks, was Bill's father's, W. Harold Deihm, youngest sister. We were very close to our grandparents, Howard Lewis Deihm and Sarah (Class) Deihm, with whom Bill and his parents and younger sister, Janet, lived in Norristown. Both our grandparents died in 1962 when my husband and I were stationed in Germany. Bill was that darling new baby boy when I was about three. All our lives we remained close. When Betty entered Bill's life and became his wife, we became even closer. Yikes, the stories we could share and those we never would are written in our hearts. More laughs than tears embrace us. I have pictures by the hundreds of so many, many good adventures. Our daughter and her husband now live very close to Betty and Bill's warm and welcoming home in Lower Pottsgrove so we lovingly think of them so often. Now they rest together in peace. May Light Perpetual continue to shine them. Amen+

Just heard about Betty's passing and send very late condolences to her family. We were neighbor chatters when I was out strolling grands or she passed by with her big dog. And then I met Finn the last time I saw her - the most adorable dog and one she could actually handle at that point! I found out about her from the lovely young family who are now in the Deihm's beautiful house - more good neighbors. I see you with a dog to walk and a cruise to somewhere wonderful, Betty and Bill.

I met Betty 20 plus years ago when I started working at MSI. She was on a team with Susan and I. We shared many laughs along the way, especially with our yearly trips to South Philly! Since she left MSI, we tried to stay in touch and would get together for dinners occassionally with others. Betty, you will be missed. I am glad I met you and have fond memories. RIP with Bill.

Betty was a great neighbor and was very sharing. We will miss her laughter and thoughtful insights. Judi will miss an avid thrift-store shopper and luncheon companion.
