Wendy E. Delany, 60

Wendy E. (Duncan) Delany, 60, passed away May 13, 2023 at her home in Bally.

Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late William E. Duncan and Mildred L. (Greisiger) Duncan. She was the beloved wife of Philip M. Delany and a devoted sister, cherished Aunt, and caring friend to many.

Wendy’s career was in retail, working in various customer service and management positions at McCrory’s, Fashion Bug and Dollar General.

In the past, she taught Sunday School at Butter Valley Community Church in Bally.

Wendy’s creative, caring spirit led her to construct scores of beautiful handmade, hand-stamped greeting cards each year for her family and friends. She put a great deal of thought, effort, and love into each one and always made sure that the children in her life, especially, received cheerful cards for their birthdays and holidays. At Christmastime, Wendy created and mailed nearly 200 decorative cards, helping her keep in touch with her large network of friends. She loved connecting with people in various ways, and among her friends were those she made playing the online game, Second Life, over the years.

Wendy also showed kindness through cookies. She taught Phil how to bake and together, they made dozens upon dozens of delicious cookies that they delivered or mailed to family and friends for Christmas and other holidays. As a way to thank friends and neighbors who helped her, Wendy baked cookies for them with love and gratitude.

She adored cats and took a number of them into her loving home over the years, most recently, Dudley, whom she and Phil adopted five years ago.

Along with her husband, Wendy is survived by her brothers, David Duncan, husband of Doreen (Gresh) Duncan, and Philip Duncan, husband of Ashi (Alvandi) Duncan; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susanne (Duncan) Gresh, wife of Dale Gresh.

Wendy’s life will be celebrated July 1, 2023, at Butter Valley Community Church, 2600 Old Route 100, Bally, PA 19503. Family and friends will be received for visitation from 10 to 11 am, followed by a service at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wendy’s name to Butter Valley Community Church, 2600 Old Route 100, Bally, PA 19503.
