Helen “Chrissy” Christman, 83

Helen “Chrissy” (Dierwechter) Christman, 83, wife of Kenneth E. Christman Jr., passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Reading Hospital.

Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Henry G. Dierwechter and Anna C. (Lengle) Dierwechter.

Helen retired from the Pottstown Hospital after working as a registered nurse for 53 years. She was a very active member of Cedarville United Methodist Church. She loved to travel. Helen enjoyed going on cruises. Above all else, Helen absolutely adored her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and she and her husband Kenny entertained many guests at their home.

Surviving along with her husband Kenny, is her son Kenny Christman, husband of Cindy; daughter Amy Statzell, wife of Jim; son Brian Christman, husband of Lance; sister-in-law Ruth Dierwechter; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. She is predeceased by her brother Henry Dierwechter.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11:00AM at Cedarville United Methodist Church (1092 Laurelwood Rd, Pottstown, PA 19465). A viewing will also be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 10:00-11:00AM at the church. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00AM at Covenant Greenwood Ebenezer Cemetery in Lebanon. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the church.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cedarville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund (1092 Laurelwood Rd, Pottstown, PA 19465) in Helen’s Name.

I knew Chrissy for many years when we both worked at PMMC. She was a wonderful nurse, very comforting to her patients (who loved her) and a hard worker. My sincere sympathy to her family, and may God comfort you.

Momma Dee... I can say so much about you in the little time our paths crossed. You have left footprints in my heart that will last until my last days. The connection we shared... Was beautiful. I'm honored to have cared and loved you. What a friendship... !! I only wished for more time. I pray you can read my words on here. I just adored you. Heartbroken to say the least.

Helen and I were best friends thru high school and after. She was Maid of honor in my wedding and I was a brides Maid in her wedding. Because my husband was military we didn’t get to see each other often, the last time was 6 years ago and was just like old times. So sorry Kenny we will both miss her.

Dee was a kind and compassionate person. She always asked about me and my family, even when she was not feeling well. She adored her family and her wonderful husband, Kenny. She was a real gem. I will miss her. My deepest condolences for your loss.
