Patricia Diane (Hinton) Tancredi passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the age of 84. Patricia (or Pat as her friends, family, and colleagues called her) was born and lived most of her life in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
She was pre-deceased by her beloved parents, Richard and Ruth (Foote) Hinton, and her two sisters and brother (Jean (Hinton) Lloyd, Carolyn (Hinton) Peiffer, and Thomas Hinton).
Pat is survived by her two daughters F. Lisa (Tancredi) Murtha, an attorney, of Trappe, Pennsylvania and Karyn A. Tancredi, a CPA, of Richmond, Virginia. Pat is also survived by three grandchildren (Alexander Murtha of Pottstown, Pennsylvania and Haley (Murtha) Scatton of Hatfield Pennsylvania and Olivia Grace Tancredi of Newark Delaware, as well as two great-grandchildren, Juliana Michelle Scatton and Jackson James Murtha.
Pat enjoyed a highly successful career in the Stroudsburg Area School District as a teacher, a guidance counselor, a school psychologist, a Principal, an Assistant Superintendent, and an Acting Superintendent. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Pat will be remembered for being an excellent cook, for her love of crafts and reading and especially for her love of dogs. She was loved and respected by her family, friends and colleagues and will be missed.
