Betty Louise (Bernhard) Himes, 93, of Royersford, loving partner of Clinton Starkey for 50 years, passed away June 29, 2023 at Brandywine Living Center in Upper Providence.
Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Velma (Seamans) Bernhard.
Betty worked for many years at Pennhurst and Container Corporation of America.
Betty was an avid seamstress and crocheted hundreds of dolls for Toys for Tots. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends and many social gatherings. She also loved dogs and raised dalmatians for many years.
Betty was a member of St James UCC in Limerick.
Surviving are three sons Dave (Peg), Dan, and Tom (Carolann); daughter Ginette Himes-Beetem; eight grandchildren: Kelly, Kate, Bryan, Becca, Steve, Kevin, Lauren, Shannen; and fourteen great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Betty was predeceased by her son Donald Himes; brothers Robert (Doris) and Linwood (Iris) Bernhard; sister Belle (Bud) Brunner; grandson Matthew Himes; and father of their children, Richard Himes.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home, 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Betty requested everyone wear colorful clothing to her funeral.
