Patricia Anderson, 83

Patricia McElroy Anderson, 83, widow of Frank Anderson, Jr., long-time resident of Stowe PA, passed away on July 3, 2023. Born in Snowdensville, PA, Pat was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Doris McElroy. Pat was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stowe PA, where in earlier years she taught Girl Scouts and was a cadet leader. Always looking forward to teaching summer bible school.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Frank Jr., sons Frank III and Patrick, grandson Austin, brothers John and William McElroy, sisters Beatrice and Doris. She is survived by sister Mary Shanley, son John Anderson, daughters Terry Witzel and Dori Anderson-Shingle and stepdaughters Marcia Miller and Michelle Bright as well as 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Pat always enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked for Visiting Angels and cared for many senior citizens and local friends. She worked at the Elks Club in Pottstown, Country Club of the Poconos and part-time at Spring City Hotel from 1982 until retiring in 2017. She also owned and operated Aunt Pat’s Donut Shop in Spring City.

Pat’s favorite pastimes were cooking and baking for her family and friends, volunteering for Red Cross and St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors biking, skiing, traveling to visit out of state friends, spending time at the family cabin playing cards, reading, crocheting baby blankets and gardening.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464) with Pastor Eugene Zaiser officiating. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. A viewing will also be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 9:30AM-11:00AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center https://www.foxchase.org/ in Patricia’s name.
