Hans Scherer, 82, of Sassamansville, PA, husband of Edith C. (Sauerwald) Scherer, passed away Saturday July 8, 2023 at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Ludwig and Katherine (Riekert) Scherer.
Hans loved to sing. He actively sang at his church as well as in barbershop quartets and local choral groups. He had a passion for antique and classic cars.
Surviving along with his wife are his children Gail Wright, Christine Krieman wife of Andrew, and Eric Scherer partner of Scott Mattes; grandchildren Zachary and Nicholas Wright and Caroline and Josie Krieman; and his sister Elfriede Strong.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 611 Swamp Creek Rd., Bechtelsville, PA 19505. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00-10:45 AM at the church.
