Ronald L. Mathias, 77

Ronald L. Mathias, 77, husband of Margaret “Peggy” J. (Mann) Mathias, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Pottstown hospital.

Born in Douglass Township, Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Erma (Hilbert) Mathias.

Ronald proudly served in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. Prior to his retirement Ronald worked in accounting. Ronald was heavily involved in his church, Calvary UCC, in Barto. He was the Sunday School Superintendent, the sexton at the church, and a member of the Church Choir. He enjoyed traveling, going to see musicals, and loved going to amusement parks. Ronald loved his family and loved to cook for them.

Surviving along with his wife Peggy, of 21 years, is his son Christopher Mathias, husband of Denise; son Ryan Mathias, husband of Tara; step daughters Amy Vallette, wife of Doug, Judy Rohrbach, wife of Todd, and Peggy Olley, wife of Dan; brother Terry Mathias, husband of Maureen, and sister Monica Mathias; grandchildren Lindsay, Emmeline, Raegan, Daniel, husband of AnnaClaire, Andrew, Cole, Sydney, Gabriel, Buncho, Annaleea, and Gabriella. He is predeceased by his first wife, Reta E. (Hoffman) Mathias, mother of Christopher and Ryan.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11:00AM at Calvary United Church of Christ (1231 PA-100, Barto, PA 19504) with Pastor David Brumbaugh and Pastor Homer Royer officiating. Burial will follow at New Goshenhoppen UCC Cemetery in East Greenville. A visitation will also be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 10:00-11:00AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army (137 King St, Pottstown, PA 19464) in Ronald’s name.

Rest in Peace Ron I was glad I got to become your friend you were a kind and loving husband to my best friend Peggy and we shared many fun times together ?? May Gods love and peace comfort Peggy and your family , you will be missed ??
