He graduated from Virginia Military Institute (VMI) as a part of the Class of ’77 and a part of his heart always remained at VMI with his Brother Rats. Gus was the co-owner of Total Care, a successful home healthcare business based in Phoenixville, PA for several years. After selling the business he continued to work in management positions the home healthcare field until his retirement in 2016.

Although he had been somewhat limited by health issues in recent years, Gus loved spending time with his family and friends and always had a smile for anyone he met. He enjoyed working in his yard with his diligent helper, his dog Buddy. He also enjoyed reading and watching college lacrosse and NCAA basketball. Gus had remained a dedicated supporter of VMI throughout his life and returned as often as he could most recently for his 45th reunion in 2022.

Gus, Mike Wilson, and myself were randomly thrown together our Rat year and remained roommates through all four years at VMI. We shared much blood, sweat and tears during those years and were brother rats in every sense of the word. I’ll put your rack down for you. Rest is peace BR.
