Mary Lou Steele, 85

Mary Lou (Harvey) Steele passed away on September 12 2023 of respiratory failure at Paoli Hospital. Born on June 29, 1938, in Phoenixville to Julia (Preble) and Francis Harvey. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, John “Jack” Steele. Survived by her four children Mary Steele (Robert Oakes), Nanci Daneker (Michael), John “Jack” Steele (Lori), and Susan Steele (Brian Leinbach) and 6 grandchildren Nicholas Daneker (Jenna), Lisa Daneker (fiancé Karrl Vonderheid), Alison Shaw (David), Christopher Steele (fiancé Adele Johns), Griffin Oakes and Jake Leinbach, sister-in-law Janet Raquet, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Peg and George Hansell and all her wonderful nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Norristown High School in the class of 1956. She cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, aunt, and great aunt to so many. She thoroughly enjoyed her large family and all the Water Street parties. She had many hobbies and enjoyed taking care of her gardens, bowling, crocheting, seeing Broadway plays, and trying her luck at the Blackjack tables.

She spent her retirement years as a snow bird in Myrtle Beach going to play golf and going to happy hour with Jack. Before her retirement she worked for the Visiting Nurses Association for 18 years and was most proud of her time as a founding partner of the Community Medical Dental Center in Rahns, Pennsylvania. She was dearly loved by all and will be missed.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 10:00AM at Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Church (196 N Trooper Rd, Eagleville, PA 19403) with Fr. Bob officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 9:00-9:45AM at the church. Burial will be held by the family at a later date.
