George T. Dierolf Sr., 91

George T. Dierolf, Sr. passed away on Thursday, September 28th at Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living Center, Boyertown, PA where he had been a resident for several months. He was born July 27, 1932 and was 91 years old.

Dierolf was the son of the late Howard and Annie (Bleiler) Dierolf. George is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Jane” (Hall) Dierolf and his three sons: George “Butch” Jr., James and Kenneth. He had four grandchildren: Matthew, Jason, Alicia and Brandi. His great grandchildren include Declyn and Dawson Dierolf and Lucas and Tyler LePera.

He graduated from Boyertown Area High School before enlisting in the Navy(8 years) where he proudly served during the Korean War. Upon returning from service, he attended Wyomissing Tech for 2 years.

George was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boyertown where he routinely volunteered as an usher. He was a longtime member and contributor to the American Legion, U.S. Veteran’s Association (54 years) and was a 60-year member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania, Boyertown Lodge No. 741. He volunteered for the Red Cross and was a Little League Baseball Coach when his son’s played baseball.

A retiree from Bethlehem Steel, he also worked in real estate and property management. In his free time, George enjoyed playing guitar and square dancing with friends, spending time with his family, watching the Philadelphia Phillies baseball games, and patronizing the local diners.

Services will be held after the 9:30 am service (11:30AM) at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boyertown, PA on Sunday, October 29th.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross in George’s honor.

I always looked forward to aunt Jane and uncle George’s for family reunions. RIP uncle George??.
