Peter L. Cissone, 59

Peter L. Cissone, 59, of Limerick PA, husband of Catherine (McKenna) Cissone, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of Phyllis R. (Palladino) and the late Peter J. Cissone.

Pete was born July 5, 1964 and grew up in Blue Bell, PA. He graduated from Bishop Kendrick High School. After high school, Pete worked at Prudential where he would meet his future wife, Cathie. They married on October 15, 1988. Pete would then go on to dedicate his career to Independence Blue Cross where he would work hard and play harder for 34 years. Pete was fortunate enough to earn his Bachelors degree through IBX and graduated summa cum laude from Pierce College in 2001.

Pete was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and a fan of all other Philadelphia sports teams. A day in the ballpark or on the golf course were his ideal perfect day, unless Cathie was dragging him to Giant to food shop.

Pete’s memory will be cherished by his devoted wife, Cathie. Together they would become the ultimate team to their two children; Peter L. Cissone Jr. (Rosy) and McKenna Cissone. He would dedicate the rest of his life to being the best dad and Pops, giving his children the best childhood possible. His absolute pride and joy is his grandson, Noah L. Cissone. Noah and Pops were thick as thieves and the best of friends. Pops was over the moon when his son Peter and his wife Rosy announced that they were pregnant again. Although the baby isn’t due until December 2023, we know Pops has already met the little one and is blessing them.

Pete’s Celebration Day will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Flourtown Country Club.

150 McCloskey Rd., Flourtown, PA 19031

Pete’s family invites all who loved him to celebrate with them from 11am-1pm. Pete would love it if you wore your Philadelphia sports team gear to the celebration.

It's always the good guys that are taken from us to soon....and Pete was one of the best. The world was a better place with him in it and although he was taken to soon, he touched so many. I hope his family can take some peace and comfort from the fact that he had a lasting impact in the lives of everyone who knew him. Rest in peace my friend.

Pete and I were in the same training class at IBC. A small group of us had lunch together every day. We had so many laughs together and shared good times. Pete was always good for a laugh but one thing he was serious about was his love for his family. My sincere condolences to Cathie and his family. I'm so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Pete.

Pete, you will be missed by so many. You were a great guy. I remember with fondness when we rode the Fox Chase line together and had some great conversations, especially after watching "The Nanny" the night before. How we laughed at her antics. Rest in Peace, my friend.

What a great guy definitely will be missed by so many! I remember working with him and he would have all these Medicare questions and he always could count on me to respond and it was never a dull moment it turned into a conversation about sports.

Cathie, I am sorry to hear about Pete, my heart is broken. We met at IBC in 1990 and became friends from day one. Between sports and music, we always had much to talk about. Even when we didn’t see each other or talk for a while, we would just pick up where we left off. Pete was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Peter and McKenna at this most difficult time. Rest in peace my friend Pete, we will meet up again soon. ??????

Pete,
You are such a great person and I am glad I met you via your buddy Ed at St Joes back in ‘85. You and Kathy have been there with Anne and I in Barnegat Light enjoying the Connor’s hospitality these past many Summers. But I’ll never forget my 1st real memory at Hogan South when you showed up wearing war paint during your work day. Man you make me laugh … to this day. RIP buddy.

Pete, you are truly a gift from God. A light shined through you that made it impossible to be anything but happy in your presence. Loved talking sports with you, being on the rugby pitch together, and enjoying the parties. Thank you for the great times and fantastic memories. May God bless Cathie (your equal in wit and perfect partner), Peter, McKenna, and your entire family as they carry on the Cissone legacy.

Pete,
I met you at St Joe’s while I was still in High School. You changed my life and made me a better person. Your humor, warmth and genuine kindness make everyone you meet feel like the most important person in the room. You are truly one of a kind. Words can’t describe how much I will miss you. I am grateful that both you and Cathie came into my life and that we shared almost 40 years as best friends. I love you Pete. Until we meet again.
