Carmen Lopez Fernandez, 88, of Spring City, formerly Granada, Spain, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Born in Ceuta, Spain on December 19, 1934, she was the oldest daughter of the late Francisco and Carmen.
Carmen had a wonderful childhood surrounded by her beloved family. She graduated with a degree in Spanish Literature and Semitic Language studies from the Universidad De Granada and enjoyed a 40-year career as a secondary school teacher at Siete Colinas HS in Ceuta.
Carmen loved to travel and was able to visit numerous destinations and countries during her lifetime. She was an avid gardener at her home in Granada, Spain and was an accomplished cook, often using the herbs and vegetables grown in her garden to create magnificent meals for her loved ones.
Carmina cherished family and was her happiest when surrounded by relatives, friends and loved ones. All were welcome to her home and nothing brought her more joy than to have a bustling house full of love, laughter and companionship.
Carmen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Juan Antonio; companion of 30 years Alberto Fuentes; brother Enrique; and parents Francisco and Carmen.
She is survived by her son William and his wife, Kimberly; grandchildren Will, Brooke and Matthew; sister-in-law Mari Carmen; cousins Jose Mari, Ana Mari and Mari Rosa; brother Paco and his wife Paula; nieces Belen (Javier) and Paulita; nephews Quique (Ines) and Javier; grandnieces Belencita, Carla and Martina, grandnephew Kike; and in-laws, the Holder and Weiblinger families
A Celebration of Life will be held for Carmen on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Chester Springs, PA. (Link)
