James “Jim” H. Price, 89 of Pottstown

James “Jim” H. Price, 89 of Pottstown, widower of Georgie (Nester) Price, passed away Saturday, November 11th at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown.

Born in Binghamton, New York, he was the son of the late Walter and Loretta (O’Neill) Price.

Jim joined the Marine Corp. in 1953. After serving, he returned home to work at Bethlehem Steel until the Pottstown plant closed. He worked many jobs to support his family, ending with Stainless Inc. in Pine Forge. He was a member of New Hanover Lutheran Church, where, for years, he supported his nephews’ scout Troop 367 on countless hikes, including the 50 miles Appalachian Trail hike, and Camp Delmont. Jim or “Jimbo” as his Pottstown jacket read, was a huge fan of all Pottstown sports, never missing a baseball, basketball, or football game or wrestling match. He was a wonderful man and loved by many.

Surviving are his daughters Vicki L. Mutter, wife of Timothy, and Penny L. Frymoyer; sister-in-law Alice Nester; grandchildren Edward Terwilliger, Ashley Mutter, Hayley Quigley, wife of Zachary, and Adam Terwilliger. Also surviving are several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his Burger King buddies. Along with his parents, Jim is predeceased by his sister Pam Hudelson and brothers Walter Price and Bob Price.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at 11:00 AM at New Hanover Lutheran Church, 2941 Lutheran Road, Gilbertsville, with Pastor Scott Staub officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service at 11:00 AM. The family will happily meet with you during the luncheon immediately following the service.

I loved Jimmy, always a smile a joke and great hug. He was truly a great human being. He will be sorely missed. He surely is in great company and the loving arms of his family in Heaven. I'm so sorry for your loss girls. How blessed you were to have each other.
