Irene B. McCormick (nee Thack), 97, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023, at Gwynedd Healthcare in Landsdale, PA. She was born on April 22, 1926. She was the Beloved wife of the late Andrew J. McCormick.
Irene was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, cooking, and baking. She was an avid reader.
Irene is survived by her children, Mary Kathryn Aranowski and Fr. Andrew D. McCormick, her son-in-law Richard T. Aranowski, and her grandchildren Alexis and Joseph Aranowski.
She was born in Shamokin to Joseph and Mary (Kasenchak) Thack. She was preceded in death by siblings Steve and Ileana.
Irene worked for many years in the garment manufacturing industry. She was a member if the St. Aloysius Church. She also belonged to the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 10:00 -10:45, with a funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM at St. Aloysius Church (223 Beech St., Pottstown, PA 19464). Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Church in Irene’s name.
