Carol Ann Weiss, 88, passed away Friday December 29, 2023 on her 88th birthday. Making her mark on this day to forever remember and celebrate not only the life she lived but the eternity she will spend with the Lord.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Magdalin (Novack) Weiss. As the second oldest sibling of six, she was often the caring and loving older sister, guiding her family. She was also a caring and loving mother and grandmother.
Carol was an excellent seamstress and a self-taught accountant. Her cursive handwriting was a source of pride in her life. She had an amazing sense of humor and was very quick witted with her jokes. She enjoyed boating, often visiting Lake Erie as her favorite destination. Relaxing while watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, being in touch with nature and anything to do with history were some of her favorite past times. Cooking for her church and family gave her a great sense of pride and joy. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family.
Carol was a devout Lutheran that went along with her German roots. In her faith, she found peace and serenity with the Lord.
Surviving are her sons Major (Ret.) Greg Sofran and Chris Sofran; grandchildren Tianna Sofran, Keren Sofran-Press, and Corporal Josiah Sofran; brothers Jerry and David Weiss; and sisters Janet Gray and Karen McMullen and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Carol was predeceased by her brother Robert Weiss.
Carol's love, joy and kindness left a lasting impact on those around her and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
