Theodore Peter Istenes, “Pete”, 80, husband of Dorothy A. (Dry) Istenes, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Wendell and Dorothy (Coates) Istenes.
Pete proudly served in the United States Navy from 1960-1964. He was employed at Bethlehem Steel, Firestone, and Occidental Chemical. He was a fantastic husband and father. Pete was a very caring, genuine person who was always there when you needed him. He loved animals, especially his dogs. Recently, he loved feeding and watching Rocky, his back yard squirrel. Pete loved the outdoors and being in nature. He was always in a positive mood and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Surviving along with his wife Dorothy of 54 years, is his son Justin Istenes; daughter Thea Istenes; brother Tyrone Istenes, husband of Barbara; sister Margaret Miles, wife of Alfred; 3 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 10:30-11:00AM at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel (701 Farmington Ave, Pottstown, PA 19464). Service to follow at 11:00AM.
