Elizabeth “Betty” L. Anderson, 97, of Boyertown, formerly of Pottstown, wife of the late Oreon V. Anderson, passed away Wednesday February 7, 2024 at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Raymond G. Sr. and Elsie May (Kurtz) Boyer.
Betty volunteered at Edgewood Elementary School for 14 years and was a member of the Golden Sage Program where she helped her granddaughter Treena’s class. She was a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church since 1947, where she sang in the choir for 52 years. Betty became a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church after Transfiguration closed down. Betty was also a proud graduate of the Pottstown High School class of 1944.
Surviving are her children Neil Anderson husband of Patricia and Donna Laver wife of Ronald; daughter-in-law Gladys Anderson; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son William K. Anderson and brothers M. William Myers, Raymond G. Boyer Jr., and Stanley R. Boyer Sr.
Funeral services will be held Friday February 9, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Burial will follow at Pottstown Cemetery, West. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00-10:30 AM at the funeral home.
