Robert Schaffer, 78, husband of Sandra (Witman) Schaffer, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Pottstown Hospital.
Born in Gilbertsville, he was the son of the late Orestes and Luella (Grim) Schaffer.
Robert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps where he was the recipient of a Purple Heart during his service time in the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Boyertown High School class of 1963. He then worked for the USPS for 28 years at the Gilbertsville Post Office. Robert was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan and Phillies fan. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bechtelsville.
Surviving along with his wife Sandra, are his sons Steven R. Schaffer, of Harrisburg, and Timothy R. Schaffer, of Boyertown; grandchildren Blake O. Schaffer and Riot F. Schaffer; sister Judy Whitesell, of Bechtelsville; and sister Linda Thiel (Fred), of Boyertown. He is predeceased by his brothers Larry Schaffer and Richard Schaffer.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11:00AM at Limerick Garden of Memories (44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468) with Pastor Eugene Zaiser officiating.
