George M. Versak (“Bopper”), 65, husband of Charlene M. (Murray) Versak, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in Pottstown.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George and Sandra (Barna) Versak.
George was a true family man. He loved to be with his wife, often enjoying hiking adventures and exploring new places together. He was always making us laugh with his silly sense of humor. He was a very proud father who never missed a game or a chance to support his kids. Whether it was an ice hockey game (Aron), field hockey (Lex), or a race (Lauren), he would always be cheering the loudest. He had a great work ethic and took so much pride in every project. No matter how sore he was at the end of a work day, he would still get down on the ground and play with his grandkids, whom he adored. They were the apple of his eye. He loved to be around people, and to know him was to love him. His wonderful personality was contagious to everyone he met. George loved to fish and spend time outdoors, and he especially loved going to the Point Breeze cabin to spend time with lifelong friends. He loved to sing, especially Elvis, and was always the entertainment at family gatherings. He was very active in the church and always reminded people how blessed he was. George had a heart of gold and truly loved to help others. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities. He had a passion for food, often declaring each meal at a new restaurant as the “best thing he’s ever tasted.” His loved ones will continue to honor his legacy by living life to the fullest, and always remembering to enjoy the simple things.
Surviving along with his wife Charlene of 39 years, are his children Aron Versak, husband of Lauren, and his daughter Alexis Versak; brother Bill Versak, husband of Dianne; sister Lynn (Versak) Avellino; grandchildren Averie and Ryleigh Versak. He is predeceased by his sister Joanne Versak.
