Barbara Moyer, 83

Barbara (Eddinger) Moyer, 83, of Boyertown, wife of Larry D. Moyer, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, March 21, 2024, with family by her side.

Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Boyertown High School. She had several jobs over the years, but her full-time and favorite job was keeping Larry in line while they built Moyers Catering together. She was “Mom” to six children and soon enough “Gram” to ten grandkids. She loved her family, and they spent time together at the family pool, having spontaneous whiffle ball games, competitive card games, and ending the day enjoying milkshakes by Mpyers’ or any kind of ice cream. The entire family spent many years vacationing in Florida, just being together, telling stories and laughing. Barb had a love for music and often listened to her player piano, Classic Oldies or her favorite music by Frank Sinatra. If the right song was playing, her foot was tapping, but if there was a dance floor, she was dancing. Her enjoyment of music was shared as a member of the Bell Choir at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Barb was a cheerleader and played sports in high school. That love for athletics and competition filtered down into the family and she spent many hours beside Larry watching their 6 children play sports and then supporting their 10 grandchildren as they also participate in sports, racing and other school activities.

Barbara and Larry enjoyed spending their time traveling with friends to see the country or going to a concert or a music show. They hosted many picnics over the years. “Once you were invited, you were always invited.” Barbara enjoyed being outside in her flower beds, doing arts and crafts, including ceramics or an evening with the girls at “Painting with a Twist”.

Barbara and Larry were married for over 65 years and have 6 children: Lori Erb, husband Jeffrey, Todd Moyer, wife Annette, Lisa Gabel, husband Bruce, Michael Moyer, wife Alison, Linda Yingling, husband Bruce, and Leigh Kibbe, husband Walter;

She is Gram to 10: Erica, Matthew, Amanda, Gavin, Luke, Mikayla, Peyton, Alex, Samantha, and Ian.

Barbara was born in Boyertown. She is the daughter of the late James Titus and Elsie M. (Sell) Eddinger. She was also from a family of 6 children, including her sister Janice Erb, husband Bruce; brother Donald Eddinger, wife Jane. She was predeceased by her parents and three brothers: Richard, Robert, and Royden Eddinger.

A celebration of life will be Wednesday March 27, 2024 at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525. Please visit with the family before the service from 10:00-11:45 AM. The service begins at 12 noon. After the service, a luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to Alzheimer’s foundation (act.alz.org) or to Susquehanna Service Dogs 1078 Gravel Hill Road, Grantville, PA 17028 (khs.org)
