Gerald P. Theisen (Jerry), 92, of Boyertown, husband of the late Ethel (Mahan) Theisen, passed away peacefully Monday April 29, 2024 at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown.
Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Walter and Alice (Andres) Theisen.
He earned his BS and MS in Education at SUNY Cortland and his Master’s Degree at Columbia University. Jerry served as a Lt. Col. in the US Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict and later served in the reserves. Jerry taught high school Chemistry and later was also the Science Department Chair at Ossining High School in New York. He was an avid sailor and liked to travel with his wife Ethel in their retirement. In his later years, Jerry was a devoted member of St. Columbkill Church in Boyertown, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer. He was a 3rd
degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving is his son Jeffrey P. Theisen husband of Nicolette; and grandson Dylan Theisen and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Walter Theisen, Jr. (wife Ruth) and sister Rita Snyder (husband Norbert).
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday May 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Columbkill’s Church, 200 Indian Spring Rd., Boyertown, PA 19512. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown.
